John Keating Announces Campaign for Mayor of Frisco

October 27, 2025

Frisco, Texas — Longtime councilman and U.S. Army veteran John Keating today announced his campaign for Mayor of Frisco, pledging to keep the city safe, fiscally strong, and future-focused.

“Frisco didn’t get here by accident,” Keating said. “We plan ahead, partner smart, and protect taxpayers. As Mayor, I’ll keep Frisco #1 by backing our first responders, delivering infrastructure that relieves congestion, and using disciplined budgeting to maintain top-tier services without raising the property tax burden on families.”

Keating has called Frisco home since 1999 and has served more than a decade on City Council. He has been involved in many of Frisco’s hallmark public-private partnerships and community assets, including The Star with the Dallas Cowboys, the National Soccer Hall of Fame with FC Dallas, the PGA of America Headquarters, the UNT–Frisco campus, and the city’s state-of-the-art public library.

A former senior counterintelligence agent, Keating served 13 years in the U.S. Army, where he received the best leadership training in the world, and is a combat veteran of Operations Desert Shield/Storm. Keating’s military service instilled in him a calm, mission-focused leadership style, and has inspired his ongoing work supporting the veteran community.

Keating’s Priorities as Mayor

  • Public Safety First: Ensure police, fire, and first responders have the staffing, training, and technology that keep Frisco among America’s safest cities.
  • Fiscal Discipline: Protect taxpayers through responsible, data-driven budgeting that sustains homestead relief and high-quality services.
  • Smart Growth & Infrastructure: Keep roads, utilities, and public facilities ahead of growth to reduce congestion and protect quality of life.
  • Results-Driven Innovation: Pilot practical technologies that improve daily life—and scale only what works.
  • One Frisco: Celebrate and strengthen Frisco’s diverse, welcoming community, including continued support for veterans and their families.

“Frisco is a city where families and businesses thrive,” Keating added. “Together, we can keep our city safe, affordable, and open to new opportunities for every corner of Frisco!”
